History of Pyrat Rum

Pyrat rum came into existence in 1997. It was originally produced by the Anguilla Rum Company. Pyrat rum was acquired by Patrón Spirits - a company formed by John Paul DeJoria, and Martin Crowley in 1989. Patrón Spirits is the current owner of Pyrat rum.

Earlier, the rum was sourced from different Caribbean distilleries. However, the production later shifted to Guyana, South America.

The unique thing about Pyrat rum is its preparation style. The liquor is aged in a unique combination of French and American Limousin oak for around 2 to 15 years.

Pyrat Rum Flavors and Review

If you are looking for a flavorful spirit, you will likely enjoy the aroma and taste of Pyrat rum. However, the rum has an intricate taste that you will be able to feel after a while of sipping it.

As soon as you open the beautiful bottle, you’ll be hit by a sharp and spicy aroma, which isn’t bad but requires some time to get used to. If you are trying this rum for the first time, you may feel it has a one-dimensional flavor. However, give it some time, and you will be able to recognize all the notes in it.

The Pyrat rum has a dominating orange flavor. Other Pyrat rum flavors include sherry, vanilla, and cinnamon. It is a well-balanced and mellow spirit.
